Here it goes!

So.
Hello!

As I am currently training to teach in a primary classroom, I shall be writing something each week about the experience of teacher training, the PGCE course and the day-to day reality of teaching practice.

I completed my first school placement in October, which to my pleasant surprise went better than expected (more on that later).
My second placement was completed in February and really excelled at it. So pleased about this as I believe KS1 is my niche.
My final placement is almost complete (as of the 29th of May) and was in another Foundation Unit.

The university-based part of the course is divided between subject knowledge for both the EYFS and Key Stage 1, and everything that teaching involves outside the various topic areas (classroom management, legal matters, continuous professional development, communication skills etc).

We have had a few assignments already, so I'll be writing something about those, as well as the ones I am yet to write.

I shall be filling you in on my progresssuccesses and failures over the course of my three placements, and aim to give you a good idea of what the steep learning curve of teacher training is really like, from the point of view of the trainee.

Note: I obviously have a lot of additional information in my teaching files and, as it would take ages to try and get everything onto this blog, there are some bits that I have chosen to leave out. If there is anything that you would like to see, please do not hesitate to contact me at v.bond5622@student.leedsmet.ac.uk

As another little note, for some reason I can see my scans/pictures on all pages, but when I preview or view my blog they don't come up.... which is not helpful. The majority of them are photos of displays/enhancements/standard tick sheets. Sorry for the inconvenience I will attempt to resolve the problem.

Just as a side note, this is my ambition ^^
